Date palms are mentioned in the Qur’an more than any other fruit palms. Throughout the month of Ramadan, Muslims break their fast on dates.
Dates are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber, which give us various health benefits including promoting normal childbirth.
- Fiber Since dates are rich in soluble fiber, they treat constipation and can lower bad cholesterol (LDL). Low LDL in the blood means a lower risk of heart disease.
Natural sugars:
Dates are rich in natural sugars that can give you energy. It's the perfect pre- and post-workout snack.
- Minerals :
Dates contain some minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, iron and potassium, which are important for bone health and can fight anemia.
A normal birth:
The benefits of dates for pregnant women have already been mentioned by the Qur’an in verse 25 of Surat Maryam {And shake the trunk of the palm tree for you, and it will fall upon you fresh ripe dates* So eat and drink and cool your eyes}.
Some recent studies have shown that eating six dates a day during the last four weeks before delivery can reduce the duration of labor and stimulate the muscles of the uterus to contract.
